eBay is one of the leading e-commerce platforms of the world. As tech innovators and leaders, the company embraces AI.
eBay has started its business journey in 1995, in the early days of the Internet and one of the pioneers of online shopping. Since then the company has been used to acquire basically all types of legal and non-controversial goods, with individuals, companies, organizations and governments among its clients.
As a tech trail-blazer, the company is embracing Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in its business operations, implementing these solutions both in customer-facing processes, and backed ones.
Tooploox is proudly supporting the company in the AI transformation.
Block, under the leadership of founder Steve Nash, sought to transcend the typical fitness app paradigm. They aimed to promote a lifestyle of consistent, mindful exercise.
Redesigning the signup process for the Block app was a crucial step in enhancing user experience and driving higher conversion rates. We analyzed the existing flow to identify areas where users might face confusion or barriers. Our redesign focused on simplifying and optimizing the process, reducing the number of steps and providing clear and concise instructions.
In redesigning Block’s app, our goal was to create an interface that was not only modern and user-centric, but also to deliver an adaptable and scalable app, capable of accommodating future features and growth. As a result, Block can continue to expand and innovate focusing on what’s really important: users needs.
59 Breaths is a mobile application designed to assist users in achieving calmness and building resilience through guided breathing exercises.
The Tooploox product design team’s goal was to enhance the user experience by delivering a seamless and engaging onboarding journey for the app users that would help them to build a mindful breathing routine. To address this, we implemented a dedicated flow that guides users in finding their personalized breathing tempo.
This product design process followed the continuous discovery approach, which, based on research, allowed us to identify product opportunities, validate them, and include them in the regular development cycle.
Adaptive is a startup that aims to give construction teams better tools to manage their back offices and help them grow.
Adaptive combines artificial intelligence with simple software to automate projects’ bookkeeping, budget, bank draws, bill pay, and more. Fully integrated with accounting software, it helps builders to save time and money.
Tooploox’s backend and frontend engineers assisted in creating a new version of the existing platform to prepare it for the new portion of clients. Our team helped to speed up the existing app and made it more stable and secure. As Adaptive is growing and expanding, Tooploox keeps ensuring steady product development. Our team constantly delivers new features for users and improves the platform’s performance and stability.
Initially a lifestyle device aimed at the consumer market, Spire decided to pivot toward a professional healthcare market and the Tooploox team was there to support this process at every stage.
Our team had to work on various aspects of the product side-by-side with Spire designers as they worked to rebuild the core product. Now, the company manufactures a device that monitors patients’ breathing and pulse and provides their clinical team with a convenient dashboard to ensure the best at-home treatment. With that in mind, we thoroughly redesigned the app to meet the needs of the new target group, we re-engineered the existing workflows and procedures in the backend to meet the strict requirements and certifications of the healthcare market and we implemented automated procedures to ensure undisrupted monitoring by the device.
The product is still under development, so our team continues to support Spire in making further improvements and adding features to the device.
PhotoAid is an online service that transforms home photographs into a format required in official documents.
By using the service, users can take selfies with a mobile phone and use them in an ID, a driver’s license or a passport. The core of the operations is founded on using AI-based image processing solutions.
As the main challenge was to build the dataset to train the algorithm on from scratch, Tooploox together with PhotoAid ended up building two solutions: IoT- and AI-based. We also used Artificial Data Generation, which enabled us to produce thousands of images of different people with a variety of lighting conditions for an extremely low cost.
When combined with the Arduino-controlled photobooth to gather real-life data, PhotoAid obtained a comprehensive pipeline of training and validation data so that it can build and implement algorithms that transform images with various lighting conditions into document-ready photos, securing its position as a leader on the market.
June ovens utilise machine learning-based image recognition software to recognize up to 100 categories of food, be that fish, bread or bacon. The Tooploox team was fully responsible for providing the neural networks for their product and implementing them into the device.
Apart from delivering the smart oven device, we helped June create a companion app that enhances the user experience and supports them in using the oven. The app provides the user with a recipes database, delivers the information about the device and is constantly updated with new features.
Tara.ai delivers a comprehensive platform for agile software development that seamlessly integrates with services such as Slack, GitHub, Trello or Asana.
Tooploox engineers created the product together with Tara from its inception, providing their expertise and ensuring the platform was fully functional, powerful and delivered on time.
Initially planning to develop a sleep inducing app, and after input from the Tooploox team, the Nightly startup pivoted towards improving sleep quality.
With an experienced team of data scientists, doctors and neurologists taking part in the clinical testing, they were able to provide a great deal of scientific data or the project.
Since Tooploox developed the product from its inception, we were able to create and then build upon an iOS app, with features such as a smart alarm and sleep scoring. The app ended up being highly successful, gaining many success stories and testimonials from users who took advantage of the app’s capabilities to recover from conditions such as PTSD or insomnia.
HappyCow is one of the most popular online services that lists sources of vegan, vegetarian and healthy foods; it’s an ever-evolving online hub that serves millions worldwide each month.

Ensemble is a free mobile app helping co-parents track and manage shared expenses for their children. The app allows users to quickly share expenses with their co-parents, suggest expense splits, upload receipts, etc.
Tooploox built the mobile app to solve the ever growing expense tracking needs of co-parents and reduce tensions when communicating about money. The app handles all expense related communications between co-parents and allows them to keep track of their spending by month, by child and by category. All spending data can be easily exported to be used in court or for the users’ own records.
TooCard is our answer to all the challenges faced by traditional business cards. The app enables the user to build a convenient iPhone business card to share with other users, who can store them in their iPhone Wallets.
Such an electronic business card contains all the information one would expect from the traditional business card – name, company name, contact info, or other custom fields like social or portfolio links.
Toocard was one of Tooploox’s internal products. The architecture of the backend is designed to be simple, scalable, and easy to use. We used the newest Python with the Flask framework, which is small, extendable, and speedy. This app was the first time our iOS team used the Combine library designed to support reactive programming, and contrary to the previously seen libraries of this type, this particular one is an official Apple product.
Style Search is an internal Tooploox project that lets you find your style with image recognition.
It can be used in various fields, with any database of products – furniture, plants, ceramics, paintings, wallpapers, etc. Also, by adding description to the images, Style Search can find other products not only by image but also using text.
We built DeepStyle architecture based on Siamese Convolutional Neural Network and increased product search results similarity by 20%.
